about

This piece was make by sampling the harmonics of a jazz guitar and processing it to create washes of sound. It was inspired by The Great Auk, a species of flightless bird that once lived off the coasts of Ireland. They are long extinct and it is a shame that such majestic animals lived on these shores and we never got to see them.

I am a musician, improvisor and composer from Cork, Ireland.
A lot my ambient work is based on nature and our surroundings,
especially my more primitive and acoustic stuff. I generally work within electro-acoustic and more computer synthesis, so this was a great opportunity to do something with minimal equipment.
